A Splash of Spring
The transition from winter to spring is a very much welcomed one; especially after a considerably long and wet cold few months. Small touches here and there can make a dramatic impact and embrace the long-awaited sunshine.
Fresh Florals
The easiest way to add a touch of spring inside your home is with florals. Whether it be daffodils or tulips, bringing in light and bright spring flowers is an effective way to emulate the flourishing outdoors. Beautiful dried flowers work to the same effect and can bring life to small nooks and corners of your home. If florals aren’t your style, or if hay fever is your enemy, fresh, floral-scented candles and diffusers can also bring the beautiful spring smell indoors, especially if April showers start to dampen the mood.
A Clean Slate
A ‘spring clean’ can seem like a daunting task and one I’m never keen on, however, there is truth behind the infamous saying. Decluttering high-traffic areas of your home, perhaps even putting away the Christmas decoration box you’ve had hiding under your stairs, will immediately get you in the mood and ready for summer. Whether you're big on hosting, or more of a nester during the Spring months, there is nothing like a good tidy-up to get your house feeling like home again.
Seasonal Changes
If you’re looking for a slightly bigger shift in your interiors, spring is the time to incorporate beautiful linens, soft pastels and delicate florals into your home. I’m not recommending a full re-design, however, a simple change of cushions, throws and even a more natural rug, will make the world of difference! These changes will last you through to autumn, and when it comes to spring and summer styling, the more texture the better! Natural tones and texture will brighten and open up your home, lightening the space and creating a welcoming environment to match the brighter mornings and longer evenings.
